Derry Whyte’s book on the history of Cabin Hill will be a wonderful mix of history and nostalgia. The early days of Cabin Hill as a private house are fascinating for those of us who only knew it in its schooldays! Yes, we all had visited the Drennan Stone at dead of night but to get the whole background to the Drennan family, not to mention the house’s later occupants will appeal to all Cabin Hillians, not just those of a historical bent!
Chris Gailey (Cabin Hillian, Campbellian, Campbell Vice-Master, 1966 -1998).

This substantial history of the school by Derry Whyte is especially exciting. Cabin Hill functioned as a traditional preparatory school for only seventy-five years but during this time it established itself as a very special place in the lives of a great many pupils and staff. Ian Kendrick (Cabin Hill Staff 1979-1987; Headmaster of Cabin Hill, 1996-2004).
