Dear OC
As we hopefully begin to return to some sort of normality, I hope that this finds yourself and your family well. Whether you were able to get away on holiday or a staycation I hope that it was enjoyable and you are fully recharged for the coming year.
A new cohort of Campbellians have begun their journey at the place we hopefully all remember fondly (for the most part!) The staff, led by the Headmaster, continue to go above and beyond in their task of guiding the next generation into adulthood, and have steered the latest Leavers into the OC Society. I have twins commencing Year 10 and I sincerely hope that can have a full academic year in the College without interruption.
In The Ulster Reform Club on Friday 8th October President Mike McAllister (7444) will host a Presidents Lunch. Any function we have held at the Club has always been excellent and I would you encourage you to attend and support the Lunch and you can book a seat/table here. Renew connections and develop old & new friendships. Mike was sadly unable to welcome you to the cancelled Annual Dinner due to the Covid restrictions so your support at the "first event" would be most welcome.
Hola! Do we have any OCs basking in the sunlight in Spain? We would love you to get in touch with us to see if we can develop a network and Branch there given the increase in current students attending the college. Please contact the Society Office to find out more.
It is hoped that the ever popular OC Ball will make its return this year on Friday 22nd October, we await details on the ease of restrictions and will publish details in due course on the website.
On Thursday 11th November the college will hold it's Annual Remembrance Service, please continue to check the website for further details on registration and attendance.
The Annual Business Lunch will return on Friday the 19th of November and it will again take place in The Ulster reform Club, further details will be published on the website in du course.
Work on the 2021 edition of The Old Campbellian magazine has commenced - do you have an article, news (births, weddings, employment, appointments) or wish to place an article in the forthcoming magazine? Please email oldcampbellianeditor@gmail.com with what you've been up to. It is always helpful to attach a photo or two! If you did not receive the magazine it may be because we don't have your contact details. If you haven’t registered on the website which is simple and straightforward please do so and you can update your own contact details as and when they change. Alternatively, if you have registered and still did not receive the magazine you may need to change your settings in the "Options" to accept mailings from us. We send out over 5,000 copies of the magazine all around the globe annually and it is not an inexpensive exercise. We are grateful to those OCs and businesses who support this endeavour through advertising and donations and we would be grateful if you felt inclined to advertise or donate if you have not alreadydone so.
The College have recently advertised a post for assistance in The Development Office, Details can be found on the School website.
Please keep an eye on the website, especially the Events Section, in the coming days and weeks for updates and News in order to see what is happening and to “Stay Connected”. The function of the Society has and always will be to maintain a link between OCs and the College. We are only as successful as OCs allow us to be. If there is something you want to happen please suggest it. If we can make it happen we will do our best to facilitate it. We have over 2,000 registered OCs on our website but we have room for more, so please log in and register if you have not yet done so or check and update your details if required.
Please get involved when and wherever you can and best wishes to you and your family at this time. Finally if you have not already watched the College virtual Tattoo, you can do so here. It's very impressive!
