Campell College was delighted to participate in European Heritage Open Day (EHOD) 2026 which took place across Northern Ireland on Saturday 12 September. Organised by the Department for Communities, the annual event grants free access to over 200 historic buildings, monuments, and hidden locations normally closed to the general public.
This year’s overarching theme was "Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine," focusing on local history, architectural preservation, and cultural traditions - a cause close to the heart of the Campbell Community.
Former Head of History Mr Keith Haines led three tours of the College, sharing his encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of the buildings and regaling visitors with stories of some of the more colourful characters in Campbell's past.
Many thanks to Mr Haines, Mr McIvor and the Year 13 team, without whose help the day would not have happened.
