Well, the one thing you can't guarantee in Northern Ireland is a sunny day when you need it! Unfortunately due to heavy rain, our Founder's Day Hog Roast Picnic had to be moved indoors with a change in format. Although not ideal, we all managed to stay dry for most of the night. Our Hog Roast served by the The Spitting Pig Company of Northern Ireland had to remain outdoors, so a few of us got a little soggy as we dashed in and out of the food tents!
Our Campbell College Pipes and Drums accompanied by the Katherine Stewart School Highland Dancers kicked off our celebration evening. Guests gathered in Central Hall and the balcony above to watch the performances and afterwards, the Headmaster spoke to give thanks to our Founder. Mr Robinson remarked how proud Henry James Campbell would be of everything our students have achieved and given back to the community. He also thanked everyone for braving the weather and how wonderful it was to have a community event at The College again.
The evening concluded with performances from harpist Emily Wilson, singer songwriter and classroom assistant Anna Bunting and OC band featuring George Robinson (12180), Patrick Hunt (11972) and Sam Warden (12026). Many thanks to all our talented performers who provided a varied evening of entertainment for our guests.
Highlights of the evening can be seen in the video below:
