Armour’s
John Kenneth Cameron Armour (1014) (1895 – 1976) was the youngest of three sons of the noted Rev J B Armour of Ballymoney to attend Campbell College. He served in The First World War, graduated from Cambridge University in Classics, and joined the Staff of his former school in 1927. His principal sporting passion was hockey, and he was President of the Irish Hockey Union in 1945. He was Housemaster of Allison’s 1930-35. He was placed in charge of the Juniors 1940-44 during the years at Portrush and Alden’s 1944-45. It was not unknown for him to ask a boy to copy out the Bible as a punishment! He retired in 1960, but continued to take a keen interest in The Old Campbellian Society and was the President in 1970. He died on the 5th of September 1976, and a House was established with his name in 1977. Armour’s Court was also named in his honour.
