Last month, our Under 14 rugby squad travelled to Lisbon for a development tour designed to challenge and grow our players both on and off the pitch.
The team trained at a local club and played two competitive fixtures against GD Direito and Agronomia, gaining valuable experience in a new rugby environment. These matches provided an opportunity to test skills, adapt to different playing styles, and strengthen team cohesion.
Away from the pitch, the boys enjoyed a packed itinerary: surf lessons, beach volleyball, football on the sand, and an adrenaline-filled high ropes course and zip wire at Lisbon’s Treetop Adventure. A guided tour of Estádio da Luz, home of Benfica FC, added a memorable sporting highlight to the trip.
Tours like this are an important part of our rugby programme, offering players the chance to develop resilience, teamwork, and independence while experiencing new cultures.
We are grateful to Bedford Consulting and Morrow Fuels for their generous support in providing kit and helping make this tour possible. Their contribution, alongside the commitment of our families, ensures our players can access experiences that enrich their rugby journey.
