Mervyn Cully (4683) with a personal report from Ypres

Campbell College Athletic Sports medal, dated 1907; belonging to Captain Alfred Squire Taylor R.A.M.C. Mervyn Cully and his wife are very recently back from a trip to honour Mervyn's late Great Uncle, Alfie (Captain Alfred Squire Taylor R.A.M.C (709), who died on 31st July 1917 - the First Day of the Third Battle of Ypres)

Old Campbellian Society helps Junior School raise over £3,500 at Family Fun Day

The Emerald garrison, photographed with Miss Brown, Head of Junior School and Mr Robbie Milhench, representing the charity TinyLife and receiving the Old Campbellian Society donation.On 18th June the Junior School held a Family Fun Day.  Whilst the aim of the day was for the boys to have a fun 'blow out' after working so hard throughout the year, it was also a great opportunity for the boys and their families to raise money for two chosen charities.  It also enabled the strengthening of those already existing bonds between all parts of the College.

Commemorating the centenary of the The Third Battle of Ypres (or the Battle of Passchendaele), remembering the 12 OCs killed during the battle

W J Porter, 1235Twelve OCs were killed during the battle, the majority as officers and serving in the 36th (Ulster) Division. This article (courtesy of Dr Tom Thorpe, MCIPR, MA, BA (hons)), currently working on the Heritage Lottery project that will protect WW1 heritage held at the College and improve its interpretation by opening up the College archives for all) outlines the course of the battle and profiles three of those OCs who perished fighting in the mud of Flanders
