The 1st XI squad also reached the Final of the Senior 2 League Cup; but lost out to an on form Ballynahinch side on the last day of the season (for the only time in four encounters between the two teams this year).
Unfortunately, they were unable to retain the Irish Challenge Trophy this year, forced to withdraw at the Semi-Final stage (full details on the OC website).
However the squad is now well placed to win promotion next season (within the original 5 year target).
This is the second season in a row that the 2ndXI has achieved promotion. Everyone involved this season richly deserved this success; and the Seconds have every chance of repeating the achievement in Junior 5 next year.
