Campbellians Hockey Club
The Stormont Pavilion and Hockey Arena at Campbell College - Home of the CAMPBELLIANS HOCKEY CLUB.
Officially opened in March 2006 by members of the 1988 GB Olympic Gold Medal winning squad, the arena provides two state of the art "Tarket "Sand Dressed artificial surfaces.
The Pavilion has eight changing rooms with interlinking shower units and two stand alone changing rooms/showers for officials.
Nestling below the Craigantlet escarpment and nearby Parliament Buildings, the facility is superb.
CHAMPIONS!
Campbellians Hockey Club 1stX1 has been crowned Mens Senior Two Champions for 2010/11.
This means that the club has achieved the promotion within five years target, originally set when the club was formed.
Whilst there is still plenty of space waiting in the trophy cabinet, Campbellians (in just 5 seasons) has seen the 1stX1 win the Mens Irish Hockey Challenge title and now the domestic league title. The 2ndX1 has won promotion every year since formation; and there are plans afoot for a 3rdX1 next season.
Campbellians now has a membership of over 60 enthusiastic players and coaching/management staff.
Not bad for a club which numbered just 18 in August 2006!
