The Council is made up of a President, Vice President, Past Presidents, Chairman of Council, Honorary Secretary & Honorary Treasurer and up to twenty four Ordinary Members. The Headmaster and two Governors shall be ex-office members of the Council. Election to the Council takes place at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Nominees for membership are volunteers who are proposed and seconded by other Council Members. The six longest service members retire annually at the AGM and are eligible for re-election. As vacancies occur on Council during the year the Council is able to co-opt any Ordinary Member to fill any such vacancy, the position then being confirmed at the next AGM.
