Campbell College - a book of photographs
Compiled by Keith Haines
Campbell College was founded in 1894 by Henry James Campbell and has since become one of the leading schools in Northern Ireland.
Incorporating the best in contemporary academic philosophy, curriculum and structural features, the college was designed by the noted Ulster architect William Henry Lynn, and opened its doors to 215 pupils on 3 September 1894.
Today, with nearly 850 pupils, the college 's facade differs little from the view which would have greeted those first entrants.
Compiled with over 200 unique archive photographs and with the assistance of many former pupils (Old Campbellians), there is much within the pages of Campbell College to celebrate, including the staff, the buildings and the houses, as well as the school's record of public and military service, and of personal, commercial and business success. There has also been a considerable range of sporting achievement, which includes over thirty Irish rugby internationals.
Such a volume as this does indeed enable the school to fulfil its motto of Ne Obliviscaris, Lest You Forget.
