Keith Haines's book has been written to commemorate the centenary of the arrival of Chase's arrival at Campbell . The biography (200 pages, 50 photos) reveals his family history, and outlines his education and the influences upon him.

His Campbell career is examined from the perspective of a respected teacher, a courageous soldier, and a renowned botanist. The book also reveals the strange coincidence that Chase, who was regarded very much as a Mr Chips figure, actually succeeded and shook hands with the man who was the original Mr Chips!
