History of the College 1996 - to date
   
1894 - 1954 1955 - 1995
1996
September: 57 boarders 692 day-boys. New classroom created from old Linen Room. A Biology laboratory refurbished. Six remaining temporary classrooms in Parade Ground area replaced. New showers in MacDermott wing. The original cast iron heating pipe system in Dining Hall replaced. Main Drive resurfaced.
   
1997
New floor in Sports Hall. Main toilets completely revamped. First phase of computerised alarm system installed.
   
1998
New Computer Suite, new Sixth Form Studio in Art Centre. A further Biology laboratory refurbished. New smaller dormitories for junior boarders.
   
1999
Campbell College Register (1894-1999) published. Publication of the “Way Forward” document by Board of Governors proposing Junior, Middle and Senior School catering for 800 plus boys on the Campbell site. Part of the College grounds would be sold off. "Way Forward” held up by dispute with Planning Department. Building of new classroom block, Art centre and multi-purpose Hall began in August. Extension to the Design and Technology Building also planned.
 
2004
New Middle School Building completed in August along with extension to the Design and Technology Building. Total refurbishment of one wing of the old building provided Middle School boarding accommodation. Building work started on new changing block located next to all-weather area. School numbers are 458 in Senior School, 412 in Middle School and 125 in Junior School. Temporary classrooms and Nissen Hut disappeared
 
2005
New changing block, Stormont Pavilion, opened in the summer. Opening of new Drama Studio. Dr Ivan Pollock, Headmaster, retired after 19 years.
 
Jay Piggot appointed Headmaster

2006
New Headmaster, Jay Piggot, Old Campbellian (6355) arrived. Synthetic hockey pitches opened.

 

 

 

Cabin Hill ceased to exist and new Junior School established.
