1894 - 1954 1996 to date
1955
New Headmaster's house completed.
   
1958
Chase's house created. MacDermott wing opened. Modification and extension of Labs. Upper studies built.
   
1963
First Development Appeal launched. (Net funds raised of over £143,000).
Sutton Hall opened at Cabin Hill.
   
1964
New Study Block opened by Lady Wakehurst. Last remaining Nissen Huts removed from Parade Ground. September: 297 boarders, 193 day-boys.
   
1965
Chapel opened. Library extension built.
 
1966
Fox's Field opened.
   
1967
Mr Sutton retired as headmaster of Cabin Hill, Mr Vye appointed. Swimming Pool and Squash Courts opened.
   
1970
September 282 boarders, 211 day-boys.
   
1971
Mr Cook retired. Second Development Appeal launched (net funds raised of £71,000). New Physics Lab opened.
 
Mr Morgan appointed Headmaster.
1972
Day-boys canteen opened.
   
1974
Netherleigh House sold. Boarders extension and Art and Craft Department opened at Cabin Hill.
   
1975
Ormiston House sold. September: 209 boarders, 212 day-boys.
   
1976
New Ormiston House opened. Self-service introduced in boarders' dining-hall.
   
1977
Mr Morgan appointed Headmaster of Daniel Stewart's and Melville College, Edinburgh. Sports Hall opened. Old Gym becomes the Art Centre. Armour's House created. Allison's House becomes a day-boy House. New House closed.
 
Mr Wilson appointed Headmaster.
1979
Cabin Hill gymnasium built. Armour Court created. Girl pupils enrolled at Campbell. 1980 Completion of two new detached houses for masters.
   
1981
New Chemistry Lab opened. September: 164 boarders, 329 day pupils (including 20 girls).
   
1982
Hockey Pitches/Athletics Track (all-weather) opened. Bowen's House created.
   
1983-85
School rewired.
   
1984
Computer Suite completed. Two new locker rooms built. Browne Pavilion renovated and Clubroom built.
   
1985
Orrniston closed as Boarding House. Converted to classroom block.
   
1986
Netherleigh lake area upgraded. New Tennis Courts.
   
1987
Mr Wilson resigns. Yates ' s House closed as a boarding house. September: 77 boarders, 343 day-boys. Staff Resource Room opened.
 
Dr Pollock appointed Headmaster.
1989
New boarding accommodation opened (individual study bedrooms). Day-boy canteen closed. Kitchens upgraded. Cabin Hill Pre-Preparatory Department opened.
   
1990
New Art Centre opened.
   
1991
First 48 boys enter Campbell directly at 11 +. September: 66 boarders, 460 day-boys. New Sixth Form Centre opened. New House area refurbished to provide two classrooms and two locker rooms for the new Junior Houses - Orrniston and Netherleigh. Two new Senior Day Houses opened - Yates's and Lytle's. Two new locker rooms. Major programme of roofing and fire safety work commences in Main Building. New Preparatory accommodation opened at Cabin Hill.
   
1992
New Library and Resource Centre, new Careers Suite, three new classrooms, a new Biology Laboratory together with complete refurbishment of two other science laboratories. Extensive programme for upgrading of grounds commences.
   
1993
Irish Rugby School of the Year . Two science laboratories refurbished. "Neither Rogues nor Fools - a History of Campbell College and Campbellians", by Keith Haines, published.
   
1994
Celebrations of the Centenary of the College took place throughout the year . New Design and Technology building opened. A science laboratory refurbished.
   
1995
Five new classrooms created in Orrniston building. New science laboratory in MacDermott wing. Two new locker rooms formed. Alden's and Price's closed as boarding houses: replaced by School House. Price's continues as a day-boy house. First three temporary classrooms removed from Parade Ground.
